Who is Glen D. Chambers?

Glen D. Chambers, a career federal employee and retiree from the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), has over 20 years experience in auditing information systems at some of the largest Department of Defense (DOD) contractors in the country. During Glen’s tenure with the Federal Government, he cultivated a unique background combining the expertise and discipline of contract auditing with the technical knowledge of a specialist in the area of information systems. Because of Glen’s diversified background, he was called upon numerous times to guest instruct various EDP/IT audit related courses at the Defense Contract Audit Institute in Memphis, TN. In this capacity, he co-instructed several specialized courses including EDP for Managers; JCL and COBOL for Auditors; Risk Assessment and Internal Controls; and EDP General and Application Controls. Glen gained extensive experience in designing and developing training programs and workshops for numerous organizational elements within DCAA, other DOD components, and various groups from the contractor community.

Since leaving government service, Glen has been actively involved in providing Information Systems (IS) audit related training to various government audit organizations at the local, state and federal levels. In 2004, Glen developed and delivered regional training in Assessing Data Reliability for the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA). Glen has also conducted training in cooperation with EGAPP, Inc. of Austin, TX for the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office, the Nevada Legislative Auditor’s Office and the Texas State Auditor’s Office. In 2007, Glen provided input to the New York Office of the State Comptroller in the development of an IT Systems Questionnaire for state examiners. Since June 2007, he has been working with the Solutions Training Group of Austin, TX in providing training to the federal, state and local audit community covering topics such as Assessing the Reliability of Computer-Processed Data; Auditing the Contingency Planning Process; Computer Fraud: Prevention and Detection; Evaluating Information Systems Controls; Introduction to Information Technology for Auditors; and Risk Management in the IT Environment. Although the majority of the training provided through Solutions Training Group has been open enrollment, on-site training has been provided to the City of Houston - Controller's Office and the City of San Antonio - City Auditor's Office.
